The role
The Programme Management Officer will lead or direct the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, operations, policy development and implementation, and other activities in the Development Pillar of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Kabul.

- Collaborate with the UNCT to advise on mitigation measures for the risks from explosive ordnance contamination
- Develop, implement and evaluate the UNAMA mine action programme strategy

What it takes
- Advanced university degree in business administration, management, international relations or a related field
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area
- A minimum of four years of experience in programme management in mine action, security sector reform or stabilization in a conflict or post-conflict setting
- A minimum of two years of experience in a managerial role in a mine action field programme
- A minimum of two years’ experience engaging with senior government officials in complex humanitarian or conflict/post conflict setting
- Experience in resource mobilization or fundraising
