The role
The Programme Budget Officer will be responsible for the preparation, administration, and monitoring of the Programme Plan and budget, as well as providing support to relevant intergovernmental and expert bodies.
What you'll do
- Reviews, analyses, and finalizes the preparation of the Programme Plan and its revisions
- Provides substantive support to relevant intergovernmental and expert bodies in their review of the Programme Plan and its revisions
- Reviews, analyses, and finalizes cost estimates and budget proposals
- Issues allotments, authorizes sub-allotments, and manages and monitors budget implementation
- Drafts reports for intergovernmental bodies and for management on budgetary issues and correspondence
What it takes
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting or related field
- A minimum of seven years of experience in budgeting, administration, financial management or related area
- Experience with results-based approaches to budgeting in a large international organization
- Experience with financial systems / finance modules of enterprise resource planning (ERP) such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft
- Experience in the simplification of business processes and procedures, including through automation
- Fluency in English and French is desirable
