The role
Barnardos is seeking a Programme Assistant to provide support to early year’s teams in delivering high-quality services to children who have experienced trauma and additional support needs.
What you'll do
- Assist the early year’s team in providing high-quality early years and preschool services
- Provide a safe and appropriate environment for children
- Support children in play and interaction
- Have knowledge and experience in working with pre-school and early years’ children who have experienced trauma
- Assist in general duties related to the preschool and early years’ environments
- Supervise students and volunteers where necessary

- Experience of working with children for a minimum of 6 months
- Relevant voluntary work/work experience may be considered
- Recognised qualification (minimum Level 5 on the QQI/ FETAC) that is approved under the Early Years’ (Pre-school) Regulations
