The role
The Programme Accountant plays a critical role in the financial management, compliance, and grant oversight of Trócaire’s Somalia programme, focusing on robust financial management and strategic grant support with significant partner-facing responsibilities.
What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive grant management for donor-funded projects
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, cash flows, and forecasts
- Support the development of high-quality proposal budgets
- Coordinate Project audits and support Programme teams in corrective actions
- Support monthly closure of the accounts by preparing batch uploads, reviews, and posting to Agresso
- Support the management and reporting of Donor Assigned Funds (DAF) and short-term Institutional Funding (IF) grants
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA or ACCA qualification (minimum part III or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial and grant management for donor-funded programmes
- Experience with donor regulations (e.g. Gates foundation, ECHO, FCDO, UN, Irish Aid or other institutional funds)
- Experience using accounting software (Agresso preferred), Excel, and Salesforce (desirable)
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations
