The role

The UNRWA is seeking a Procurement Assistant based in the West Bank to support the Logistics and Procurement Department. The role involves managing procurement and contracting processes, monitoring purchase requisitions, and maintaining accurate records for tenders and purchase orders. The successful candidate will assist in drafting correspondence, distributing materials, and facilitating quality control measures to support UNRWA's humanitarian mission.

What you'll do

  • Follow up on procurement and contracting processes including receipt of requirements and bidding preparation.
  • Maintain standard documentation for purchase orders, receipts, and delivery schedules.
  • Update procurement records and assist in the preparation of contract documentation.
  • Initiate quality control reports and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Distribute tender documents and maintain records of outstanding purchase orders.

What it takes

  • Secondary education plus successful completion of a two-year business course.
  • Minimum of three years of clerical experience in procurement and logistics.
  • English proficiency at UN Level II (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking).
  • Must reside in West Bank or Jerusalem with current authorization to work in the duty station.
