The role

The Private Sector Communications Officer at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is responsible for developing and delivering marketing and fundraising communications strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement, and to accelerate income for UNHCR.

What you'll do

  • Develop and deliver marketing and fundraising communications strategies
  • Support the development and implementation of a content strategy for PSP in Asia & Pacific
  • Prepare, edit and quality assure briefing notes, talking points and background materials for senior management engagements
  • Coordinate with colleagues in Global Communications and other key stakeholders
  • Support the planning and implementation of annual plans for PSP markets, country operations and the Bureau
  • Provide technical support and training to ensure capacity building and adherence to UNHCR quality and performance standards

What it takes

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Political Sciences, Public Information, Media, International Relations, Economics, Business Administration/Management, External Relations, Fundraising, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant job experience with a graduate degree, or 6 years with an undergraduate degree
  • Experience developing donor-facing proposals, pitches, reports and senior management briefing materials
  • Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across functional and national boundaries
  • Proven strong social media skills
