The role
The Principal in Residence (PIR) at KIPP North Carolina is a specialized 1-2 year leadership development program for aspiring school principals. PIRs serve as members of the school leadership team, mirroring the responsibilities of an Assistant Principal while receiving intensive coaching, mentorship, and formal professional development to prepare for future school leadership. This role focuses on driving academic excellence, developing teacher talent, and shaping school culture across KIPP NC's network of charter schools.
