The Prescribed Fire and Stewardship Technician will provide technical leadership and support for land management and prescribed fire programs in Kentucky. What you'll do

  • Supervise, hire, and train seasonal staff and volunteers.
  • Operate and maintain fire equipment, off-road vehicles, and stewardship machinery.
  • Manage preserve infrastructure and conduct ecological monitoring.

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in natural resource management.
  • NWCG Squad Boss (FFT1) and Wildland Faller qualified.
  • Experience with Appalachian wildland fire management and prescribed burn implementation.
  • Ability to maintain arduous fitness levels and pass the pack test.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
