The role

The Planning Officer (Team Lead) position is located in the Programme Management and Support Section of United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) within the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) in New York. The incumbent will lead one of the PMSS regional teams, providing support for budgeting, management, and implementation of mine action programmes.

  • Act as a technical resource for UNMAS Programme Officers

  • Advanced University Degree in business administration, management, political, social or engineering sciences
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in programme planning, project management or related activity
  • A minimum of three years experience in programme management in mine action, security sector reform, stabilization or humanitarian response
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a peace or humanitarian field operation in a conflict or post-conflict setting
  • Experience in managing a diverse team
  • Experience in a mine action field programmes
