The role
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective mid-level and major donors to achieve fundraising goals, both independently and with PPSO leadership.
What you'll do
- Identify, manage, and steward a portfolio of mid-level and major donors and prospects
- Lead the cultivation and solicitation of annual gifts in-person as well as through proposal writing
- Record donor interactions, relationships, and other relevant information in the donor database
- Develop concepts and messages that articulate the mission, vision, core values, and exceptional attributes of the organization
- Represent PPSO at key community events virtually and in-person
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Business, Non-profit Management, Marketing/Communications, Political Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2-3 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience
- At least 1-2 years experience in prospect management, individual gift solicitation, managing a portfolio of major donors, and a proven track record of successfully meeting or exceeding revenue goals
- Experience with Salesforce, EveryAction, and/or another relevant fundraising database is preferred
