The role

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is seeking a Petrochemical Analyst in India to focus on the economic, financial, and market aspects of the petrochemical industry, assisting in accelerating a just transition from oil and gas in alignment with climate commitments.

What you'll do

  • Conduct research on the agrochemicals and textiles sectors within the petrochemical industry
  • Conduct research on banks and financial mechanisms of the petrochemical industry
  • Prepare forecasts and analysis of trends in the Indian agrochemical and textile sectors within the petrochemical
  • Collects economic data from established datasets and other sources, utilizing data collection and data science protocols
  • Utilizes statistical analysis and mathematical methodologies to develop data
  • Engage with relevant external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, banking institutions, investors, MDB’s) in India and abroad, and represent IEEFA at meetings

What it takes

  • 2-4 years’ experience in economics / finance including at least two years of experience related to the petrochemical industry (agrochemicals) of India
  • Comprehensive experience analyzing the industry growth’s impact on the economy, financial reporting, stocks, and investment portfolios
  • Proficient understanding of finance, public policy and quantitative analysis
  • Understanding of policy and regulatory landscape in the petrochemical industry, with a focus on India
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through publications, reports, commentaries and liaising with regulators/ government stakeholders
  • High degree of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications
