Endeavor Health Services is seeking a full-time Peer Specialist to join their Forensic ACT team, providing direct support and services to clients.
What you'll do
- Meet with individuals in the community or in clinic to help provide support and advocacy.
- Attend conferences and meetings with individuals to assist them in accessing services.
- Assist staff, family, and individuals in identifying problems that prevent them from accessing services.
- Support individuals in navigating and linking with services.
- Develop and implement activities to involve individuals and their supports.
- Facilitate support groups for peers.
What it takes
- At least 18 years of age.
- Completed or must complete the Peer Advocate training within six (6) months of hire.
- A current or former recipient of services to assist in recovery.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid NYS driver license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge, desire, and skills to advocate for the needs of individuals and their families.
