The role

The Partnerships Specialist at WFP in Mauritania will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Partnerships, Reporting and Communication, and in close coordination with various technical units to develop and diversify partnerships, mobilize resources, and advocate for the organization’s goals.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement partnership, resource mobilization, and advocacy activities, including funding proposals, reports, and information notes
  • Contribute to the development and diversification of partnerships through profiling, sensitization of partners, and showcasing the results of the World Food Programme (WFP)
  • Produce data-based analyses and recommendations to strengthen the engagement of existing partners and identify new funding opportunities
  • Coordinate the collection of programmatic and operational information, prepare strategic support materials for partners and leadership, and support decision-making
  • Monitor and analyze partnership data using institutional systems to support the positioning of WFP and influence public policy
  • Participate in field missions, advocacy events, and activities with partners, donors, and UN system actors to promote WFP priorities and sustainable development goals
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with WFP offices (headquarters, regional office, global office, other country offices)
  • Monitor the implementation of the country office’s private sector engagement strategy
  • Update team work organization tools, including the team work plan

What it takes

  • At least three (03) years of experience in international development, development economics, international relations, law, marketing, communication, or any relevant field
  • Proficiency in office software and common software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships, identify collaboration and resource mobilization opportunities
  • Excellent analytical, visualization, and data communication skills to inform decision-making
  • Experience in preparing briefs, reports, and resource mobilization documents
  • Ability to provide high-quality technical support and promote excellence in service delivery
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute to an inclusive, gender-equitable, and diverse work environment
