The role
The Partnerships Officer will work closely with the Resident Coordinator Office economist and other UN Country Team finance experts to promote partnerships to support financing for accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
What you'll do
- Works closely with the Resident Coordinator Office economist and other UN Country Team finance experts to promote partnerships to support financing for accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Identifies and provides advice on partnership opportunities to drive financing for development options, instruments, modalities to the RC/UNCT
- Contributes to advocacy, communications and dialogues with partners to improve development finance assistance policies and practice
- Works in close collaboration with the RCO Economist, ensures effective engagement of relevant government counterparts, private sector, civil society and development partners, to develop engagement and partnerships around SDG financing
- Supports the development of bankable SDG projects and ensures investment readiness through promotion of blended and innovative financing tools for the UNCT
What it takes
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in business or public administration, sustainable development, finance or related area
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience and track record in strategic support to financial partnerships, social corporate responsibility, financing for development, resource mobilization in the context of development cooperation or related area
- Experience of developing strategic partnerships across government, private sector and civil society organizations, including in financing for development
- Experience in preparing project/programme proposals
- Experience in developing and leveraging innovative financing mechanisms
- Experience in managing funds
