The role
Provides nursing care for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties in a residential setting, including administering medications, triaging, and documenting patient care.
What you'll do
- Administers medications and treatments
- Monitors the outcome of interventions
- Assesses health and provides clinical nursing care
- Assists in physical assessments and medical reviews
- Triages and assesses level of need for clients, staff, volunteers and visitors
- Provides first aid and performs CPR if needed
What it takes
- Registered Nurse in good standing with Maryland Board of Nursing
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and CARE within six (6) months of hire and maintained thereafter
- Adult and Pediatric CPR within one month of hire and maintained thereafter
- Knowledge of nursing practices, first aid, medication administration protocols, and infection control protocols
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and normal growth and development among children ages 3-15 and adults
- Knowledge of MD State and CDC guidelines/mandates for immunization
