The role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an operations intern to assist the operations team in the Baltimore, Maryland office with daily in-office tasks.
What you'll do
- Support the front desk by assisting clients waiting in the lobby and stamping envelopes
- IRC vehicle maintenance such as checking the mileage and tire pressure
- Assist with organizing, tracking and facilitating staff access to contributions in kind (donations)
- Stock and track items in the supply room
- Distribute and track computers and key fobs for staff
- Prepare desks for new hires

- Prior experience and/or interest in working with refugees and immigrants
- Prior experience and/or interest in operations
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment
- Flexible and reliable, with outstanding attention to detail in copy editing
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based applications (databases, Box)
