The role
GIZ is seeking an Operations Information, GIS, and Systems Advisor to support the reopening of its Country Office in Damascus, Syria. The role involves GIS and geographic information management, information management and reporting, fleet management, contract management, and stakeholder coordination.
What you'll do
- Produce, update, and maintain operational maps and geographic information products
- Develop, maintain, and improve operational databases and information management systems
- Maintain fleet databases, records, and reporting systems
- Support the administration and monitoring of guarding contracts and other operational service contracts
- Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with local authorities and relevant stakeholders
What it takes
- University degree in GIS, Geography, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Security Management, Logistics, or another relevant field
- Minimum five years of relevant professional experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA/Macros
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent platforms
