The role

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/WHO is seeking a One Health Consultant to support the implementation of Guyana’s One Health Project. The consultant will facilitate coordination, strengthen infection prevention and control capacities, and manage reporting on International Health Regulations (IHR) and emergency preparedness. This role requires extensive coordination with national authorities, technical committees, and intersectoral stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.

What you'll do

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of technical deliverables under the One Health grant.
  • Coordinate activities with national authorities and the technical committee.
  • Support the updating of National and Regional Multi-Hazard Emergency Management Plans.
  • Prepare technical progress reports and status updates on IHR capacity building.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, bottlenecks, and constraints.

What it takes

  • Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, social sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of combined national and international experience in One Health or IHR.
  • Proven experience in inter-programmatic collaboration with government or UN agencies.
  • Excellent coordination, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English.
