The role

The Officer- Protection is responsible for supervising and supporting the implementation of prevention activities related to Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions, including community-based protection activities in the SCI area of the Rohingya Response and Host Community programs.

What you'll do

  • Supervising and supporting the implementation of prevention activities related to Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence interventions
  • Managing and supervising Officer-Social Work, Officer – Case Work, Community Mobilizers, Cleaners and Guards in respective locations
  • Leading community engagement initiatives, women's and adolescent groups, awareness sessions on CP, GBV and protection issues
  • Psychosocial support activities and supervision of case management
  • Capacity building, coordination, and strengthening referral pathways

What it takes

  • At least 3 years’ experience within a development organisation, and at least two years’ experience in a management position
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as social science, anthropology or development studies
  • Knowledge of child rights and child protection issues in Bangladesh
  • Strong technical understanding of child protection and community-based approaches
  • Experience in running recreational and psychosocial activities for children and familiar with community-based approaches to GBV and case management systems
