The role

The South Carolina Rural Water Association is seeking a natural resource management professional for a part-time position, with the possibility of becoming full-time as additional funding is secured.

What you'll do

  • Work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Coordinate and facilitate collaboration among forestry, water, and natural resource partners across South Carolina
  • Build and maintain partnerships with private landowners, public water utilities, conservation organizations, state and federal agencies, technical service providers, and other stakeholders
  • Support the development and implementation of EPA Section 319 Watershed Planning and Implementation, USDA Forest Service, and other grant-funded initiatives
  • Assist with the development of South Carolina Forestry Commission Stewardship Management Plans
  • Conduct watershed assessments, GIS-based prioritization analyses, and other technical evaluations supporting watershed protection and emerging private environmental markets

What it takes

  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management / Environmental Science
  • 1+ years of operating ESRI’s ArcPro GIS software
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Formal report writing skills
  • Public speaking proficiency
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively including occasional overnight stays
