The role

The United Nations Environment Programme is seeking a National Consultant to support the Kigali Implementation Plan in Peru by enhancing energy efficiency and promoting low-GWP refrigerants in the RAC sector. The consultant will develop technical curricula, conduct training workshops for instructors and stakeholders, and provide energy diagnostics for local companies. This 10-month assignment focuses on strengthening regulatory frameworks and technical capacities to align with the Montreal Protocol.

What you'll do

  • Update and optimize the energy efficiency curriculum for the RAC sector in Peru.
  • Develop technical and practical guidelines for RAC technicians and equipment owners.
  • Design and implement training workshops for instructors, importers, and distributors.
  • Provide energy efficiency technical assistance and diagnostics to 15 companies.
  • Coordinate the National Seminar on energy efficiency and low-GWP alternatives.

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electromechanical) or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the HVAC-R sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training workshops.
  • Fluency in oral and written Spanish.
  • Familiarity with Montreal Protocol phase-out schedules is desirable.
