The role

The Movement Control Assistant is responsible for providing movement control services, including planning and scheduling the movement of passengers and cargo, coordinating transportation activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations in support of a field mission.

  • Receives and assists in planning and scheduling the movement of passengers and cargo
  • Coordinates transportation activities with Aviation, Transport and Riverine Units/Sections and commercial transportation service providers
  • Supervises the activities of the Cargo Warehouse and ensures compliance with regulations
  • Maintains electronic databases and participates in the development of standard operating procedures
  • Assists in the coordination of inbound activities for freight into the mission

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in Dangerous Goods transportation
  • Experience in movement control, multi-modal transportation, airline operations, logistics management
  • Experience in customs clearance and inbound coordination of shipments
  • Experience in at least two modes of transport including planning, coordination, and executing large-scale personnel and/or cargo movement operations
  • UN Language Framework proficiency in English (UN Level II) and either French or Spanish (UN Level II)
