The role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will support UN-wide monitoring, evaluation, learning, data analysis and reporting under the UNSFA and humanitarian-basic human needs coordination architecture in Afghanistan. The role focuses on strengthening results frameworks, data quality, evidence-based reporting, evaluations and dashboards to support informed decision-making and accountability.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and support inter-agency monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting efforts
  • Maintain and strengthen a comprehensive, risk-informed and conflict-sensitive system for monitoring and reporting
  • Serve as the UN RCO focal point for M&E within the Programme Management Team
  • Support the PMT in developing and updating UNSFA Joint Work Plans
  • Coordinate agency-specific monitoring and reporting capacities
  • Liaise closely with UN agency M&E, data and reporting focal points

What it takes

  • An advanced university degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, economics, social sciences, public policy, development studies, data science or another relevant field
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme monitoring and evaluation
  • Proven experience in developing results frameworks, indicators, M&E systems and reporting or data-visualization tools
  • Fluent English language proficiency
