The role

FHI 360 is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director for the upcoming MCC Belize Training and Transitioning to Work Activity. This role is responsible for establishing and managing the project's overall M&E system, tracking program results, and ensuring data quality and reporting compliance. The Director will lead research design, capacity building for staff and partners, and the dissemination of program findings to key stakeholders. This position is based in Belize and is contingent upon the formal award of the project.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement the project's comprehensive MEL plan and evaluation activities.
  • Develop systems for the timely collection, management, and analysis of valid data.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building for project staff and sub-grantees.
  • Oversee research implementation and the dissemination of findings to stakeholders.
  • Ensure M&E frameworks remain consistent with national and donor requirements.

What it takes

  • Master’s degree in evaluation, demography, social science, or economics.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in monitoring and evaluating education or social-sector programs.
  • Proven expertise in USG-funded project M&E system design.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, SAS, or SPSS.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish and Belizan Creole proficiency preferred.
