The role
The incumbent will provide medical support to UN personnel in the field, undertake day-to-day clinical duties, and participate in health education and occupational health duties.
What you'll do
- Support clinical duties, including emergency response and support to the Ebola outbreak
- Participate in addressing work environment and occupational health issues
- Ensure quality in clinical services
- Follow the United Nations-established policies and procedures regarding medical clearances, sick leave, and medical evacuations/repatriations
- Participate in drafting and implementation of business continuity and crisis preparedness plans
- Manage day-to-day mission medical support operations
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in Medicine
- Current unrestricted registration with the medical licensing authority of one of the Members States of the United Nations
- Training in Emergency medicine and Trauma care is desirable
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical experience
- Experience in UN or other international field operation support is desirable
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and data analysis is desirable
