The role

The Media and Communications Officer at IOM will support the coordination and implementation of communications and media-related activities to promote IOM Chad's programs. This role involves developing communication strategies, drafting content, managing social media, and engaging with the media. The officer will also contribute to training materials and undertake field travel for multimedia content creation. The position requires a strong understanding of migration issues and excellent communication skills in English and French.

What you'll do

  • Participate in the implementation of IOM Chad internal and external communications strategies
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project visibility and communication plans
  • Draft and/or coordinate the preparation of specific communications content produced by IOM Chad
  • Support the management of IOM Chad's online presence
  • Draft responses to press/media requests and coordinate media engagement activities
  • Undertake field duty travel to take photographs and video footage
