The role
The MEAL Officer at IsraAID in Vanuatu is responsible for contributing to the effectiveness and impact of the organization's programs through the development and use of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plans, tools, and methodologies.
What you'll do
- Support program design and development of MEAL plans, tools, and methodologies
- Assist in the design of new programs based on evidence
- Contribute to the development of MEAL plans, including identifying appropriate and relevant indicators and information collection methods and techniques
- Work closely with the Country Director and program teams in the design of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools and methodologies
- Contribute to the advancement of IsraAID’s global MEAL approach, procedures, methods and templates
- Lead transparent, accurate and timely data collection through surveys, desk and literature reviews, and facilitation of diverse and participatory data collection activities
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Administration or other relevant field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in program design and monitoring and evaluation
- Experience in working with local communities and monitoring local community projects
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Skills in data analysis software is an advantage
- Ability to work flexibly in challenging situations
- Cultural understanding of the Vanuatu context
- Commitment to the aims and principles of IsraAID
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bislama
- Understanding of protection-related programming is an advantage
