The role
Per Scholas is seeking a Manager, Government Contracts & Compliance to support holistic grant and contract management across federal, state, and city funding streams. This role involves ensuring strong contract performance, regulatory compliance, and accurate revenue recognition.
What you'll do
- Independently own an assigned portfolio of grants end-to-end: execution, funding agency communication, kickoff facilitation, monitoring, and renewal.
- Support negotiation and legal review on assigned awards, escalating high-risk terms to the Director per established triage standards.
- Conduct first-pass review of low-risk contract documents on assigned awards (e.g., standard renewals with no material changes), escalating flagged terms to the Director/Legal.
- Partner with Fiscal to ensure accurate revenue recognition on assigned awards, aligned with contract terms.
- Coordinate document preparation and lead team prep calls in response to funding-agency audit and monitoring notices for assigned grants, within the funder's notice window.
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 3-5 years of experience managing government contracts, grants, or sponsored programs
- Proven experience with post-award grant administration and contract performance monitoring
- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles for cost-reimbursement, milestone-based, and performance-based contracts
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and executing funding agreements, subcontracts, and amendments
