The role
Nutrition International (NI) is seeking a Manager - Advocacy & Communications in Jakarta, Indonesia to lead the organization's external engagement strategy. The role involves translating complex nutrition evidence into policy narratives and building strategic partnerships with government and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage media relations, develop advocacy strategies, and enhance the visibility of NI’s work in Indonesia.
What you'll do
- Develop and lead the advocacy strategy for Nutrition International in Indonesia at national and sub-national levels.
- Lead external engagement and government relations in Indonesia, participating in high-level meetings with the Country Director.
- Identify, build, and nurture strategic partnerships with government, donors, development partners, academic institutions, civil society, and media.
- Monitor the funding landscape and identify fundraising and resource mobilization opportunities at the country level.
- Lead on media engagement through direct connections or by managing PR agencies to ensure positive brand building.
- Build visibility for Nutrition International’s work in Indonesia through content creation across various platforms.
What it takes
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in advocacy, government relations, or strategic communications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, International Development, International Relations, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a related field.
- Strong contacts and relationships with Indonesian government (Ministry of Health and BAPENNAS preferred).
- Background in public health and nutrition is highly preferred.
- Broad understanding of the political, health, and development context in Indonesia.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
