The role

Upwardly Global is hiring a full-time, exempt Major Gifts Officer to build and close major donor relationships, primarily in the U.S. Bay Area or Los Angeles, with a travel requirement of approximately 30%.

What you'll do

Assess and rate the existing pipeline and build a qualification plan for new prospects
Close $2M in major gifts from a portfolio of 100-125 households
Design and run a prospecting engine
Manage a personal portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects
Partner with the CRO to set and hold qualification standards
Build and supervise a team of gift officers and donor engagement staff

What it takes

A documented record of acquiring new major donors
Personal closes at the six-figure level, with seven-figure experience or a credible path to it
10+ years in nonprofit fundraising or comparable relationship-based revenue work, including 5+ years focused on major or individual giving
Experience building a pipeline from thin inventory
Experience managing and developing frontline fundraisers
Fluency with CRM-driven pipeline management and data-informed portfolio decisions
