The role
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for administering programs, policies, and procedures for the Logistics Department, including scheduling, routing, and assignments of drivers, and vehicles. This position will submit recommendations for the development of, and compliance with, logistics/transportation programs, policies, and procedures.
What you'll do
- Serves as a point of contact for all assigned staff within the logistics department
- Monitors Logistics operations to ensure drivers comply with company rules and government regulations
- Supervises material and service providers who perform repairs and maintain company vehicles
- Conducts periodic yard checks of all properties where company equipment is staged/stored
- Reviews and analyzes reports for trends and recommends changes
What it takes
- High School Diploma from an accredited school or general education development (GED) certificate, Associates degree preferred
- 2+ years of supervisory/management experience
- 3+ years of experience in Logistics or a related field
- Must obtain Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months in position
- 3 years of clean, clear, no violations Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in a commercial vehicle
- Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical
