The role
Support research and documentation relating to competition and consumer protection frameworks, as well as the Oman market study and the final assessment of Oman’s 10th National Development Plan.
What you'll do
- Conduct preliminary research on assigned legal and regulatory topics
- Support legal research related to Oman’s building materials sector
- Contribute to the legal assessment of Oman’s 10th National Development Plan
- Assist in drafting, editing and proofreading reports, presentations, background notes and other documents with legal content
- Support consumer protection work, including the webinar planned for November
- Assist with legal and substantive preparations for the Arab Competition Forum and related competition policy activities
What it takes
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme, final year of a first university degree programme, or have graduated with a university degree
- Fluency in English and Arabic, knowledge of French is an advantage
- Computer literate in standard software applications
- Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge in legal analysis is desirable
