The role

The UNHCR Representation in France is seeking an intern to support the Legal and Policy Unit in legal analysis, advocacy, and institutional coordination activities related to asylum procedures in France, EU law, and implementation of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to initial and continuous training programs for CNDA members
  • Conduct legal research and write analysis notes on asylum law, French asylum procedures, EU law
  • Monitor legislative, jurisprudential, and policy developments related to asylum implementation of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum
  • Participate in meeting preparations, external events, and drafting minutes and summaries
  • Support cross-unit activities as needed
  • Conduct status verifications for asylum seekers in first countries of asylum

  • Recent graduate or pursuing higher education in a relevant field (human rights law, international public law, international relations, political science)
  • In-depth knowledge of French asylum procedures and involved actors
  • Strong writing skills in French and English
