The role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Lead Thématique Psychosocial for its Project STAR RDC Phase 3 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role involves coordinating and strengthening psychosocial support services for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) across various project sites. The incumbent will provide technical oversight, capacity building, and strategic leadership to partners and CISM structures to ensure high-quality, survivor-centered care.

What you'll do

  • Develop and update psychosocial strategies and protocols according to IASC and GBV standards.
  • Supervise the implementation of GBV case management and ensure survivor-centered care.
  • Coordinate with medical, legal, and economic reintegration teams to ensure holistic care.
  • Conduct field supervision and provide coaching to psychosocial teams and partners.
  • Manage and report project indicators using GBVIMS and/or DHIS2 systems.

What it takes

  • Master's degree or equivalent (B+5) in Clinical Psychology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising psychosocial/mental health activities.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in GBV program coordination, preferably in conflict zones.
  • Expertise in IASC guidelines and GBV minimum standards.
  • Full proficiency in French and local languages (Lingala, Swahili, etc.).
