The role

The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision, safety, and developmentally appropriate education of children in a nurturing environment. Working under the guidance of the Program Director, the teacher implements high-quality programs while adhering to all state regulations and organizational policies. This role involves active collaboration with team members and acting as a positive role model for children and families. The position emphasizes fostering a supportive atmosphere where children can grow and develop to their full potential.

What you'll do

• Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate children's programs.
• Maintain compliance with New York State day care regulations.

What it takes

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or 9 college credits in a related field with two years of experience.
• Ability to complete required safety and youth protection trainings.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training requirements.
