Join Louisville Grows as a Landscape & Facilities Technician and help us grow a healthier, greener Louisville, one tree, garden, and neighborhood at a time.

What you'll do

  • Assist with tree planting, staking, mulching, watering, and pruning across Louisville Grows' urban forestry sites
  • Maintain community gardens, pollinator plantings, and green infrastructure installations
  • Support site prep and maintenance for volunteer workdays alongside our Citizen Forester network
  • Monitor tree and plant health, and flag issues (pests, disease, storm damage) to program staff
  • Build and repair raised beds, fencing, tool sheds, signage, and other site structures
  • Perform basic carpentry, minor repairs, and general upkeep at garden and forestry sites

What it takes

  • Interest in landscaping, tree care, gardening, or general grounds maintenance
  • Basic carpentry, repair, or handyman skills (building, fixing, and maintaining structures/equipment)
  • Willingness to learn plant and tree identification, planting techniques, and basic arboriculture
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a crew or with volunteers
  • Valid driver's license
