The role
The Laboratory Technical Advisor (LTA) will lead EpiC Jamaica’s technical support for laboratory systems strengthening and capacity building at designated public health laboratories. The role involves providing strategic guidance on laboratory quality management systems, diagnostic networks, and accreditation readiness in alignment with national and international standards. The advisor will coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, stakeholders, and project staff to ensure technically sound, sustainable, and high-quality laboratory operations. Additionally, the LTA will mentor staff, manage sub-contractors, and contribute to project reporting and donor presentations.
What you'll do

What it takes
- Master’s Degree in laboratory sciences or microbiology.
- At least eight years of clinical laboratory experience in developing countries.
- Five years of experience in a laboratory quality management role.
- Proven knowledge of infectious disease diagnostics and molecular methods.
- Experience managing US Government-funded projects.
