The role
Join The American Red Cross as an IRL Technician and perform basic donor testing, patient tests, and maintain equipment in the Immunohematology Reference lab.
What you'll do
- Perform telephone consultation including receiving and completing orders for antigen negative products
- Receive, coordinate, ship, and transport patient and donor blood samples
- Maintain equipment, reagents, and other stock to assure the quality and accuracy of laboratory test procedures
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry
- 1 year of blood banking experience
- MLT (ASCP) certification
- Physical requirements: standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods; lifting, pulling, pushing and moving objects up to 50 pounds
