The role
The Investment Specialist will contribute to the development, structuring, approval, and execution of investment transactions for UNCDF’s strategic priorities in Asia and the Pacific region.
What you'll do
- Lead systematic market scoping to inform investment strategies and identify opportunities
- Design projects/financial mechanisms and fundraising
- Execute investment transactions, including due diligence and transaction structuring
- Provide ongoing technical assistance for financial instruments deployed
- Manage project operations and partner engagement
- Prepare donor reports and ensure compliance with UNCDF and donor requirements
What it takes
- Advanced (Master’s level) university degree in development, business administration, finance, economics, or related fields
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with a Master’s Degree or 9 years with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working for/in the UN System or similar international development finance institution is desirable
- Strong analytical writing skills; experienced in producing concise, executive level reports (PowerPoint) and presentations
- Competency with financial modeling and analysis in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in private credit and/or equity for investments with a development impact in emerging/frontier markets
