The role
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is seeking an Investment Officer/Senior Investment Officer for its Africa Infrastructure department, responsible for sourcing, executing, and supervising investment transactions in various infrastructure sectors in Africa.
What you'll do
- Source and assess opportunities, identify bankable projects
- Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new debt and equity transactions
- Deliver all transactions and accountabilities of the role efficiently
- Provide overall leadership to the team in actively managing the portfolio
- Contribute to drafting strategies for sectors, countries, or regions
- Support World Bank and MIGA colleagues on sector reform
What it takes
- Master's degree in finance, business or similar relevant education

- Proven track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing private investment projects in infrastructure sectors
- Strong business development and client relationship skills
- Deep industry and market knowledge of at least one infrastructure sector
- Ability to interact directly and independently with senior management of potential clients, financial and technical partners, and senior government officials
