The role

The Innovation and Analytics Hub at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking interns to support its mission of advancing data, digital solutions, and foresight in human rights. Interns will join one of four workstreams, including Strategic Coordination, Digital Transformation/AI, Data & Analytics, or Risk Analysis and Early Warning. Working alongside professional staff, interns will contribute to high-impact projects while gaining experience within the UN system. The program offers flexible arrangements, though certain workstreams require full-time, in-person attendance in Geneva.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to strategic planning, outreach initiatives, and training workshops.
  • Support the design and execution of digital transformation and AI-driven initiatives.
  • Collect, compile, and visualize data to support human rights indicators.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging human rights risks and crisis situations.
  • Draft reports, background materials, and daily updates for internal coordination.

What it takes

  • Current enrollment in or completion of a graduate degree, or final year of a bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written); additional UN languages are highly desirable.
  • Relevant field of study according to the chosen workstream (e.g., Political Science, Data Science, Law).
  • Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum duration of three months.
