The role

The International Urban Planning Expert will support the recovery of the Garabagh and East Zangezur Economic Regions through strategic and technical interventions, including the preparation of urban plans and designs for settlements, knowledge generation, and capacity building.

Undertake reviews and assessments on relevant policies and strategies related to urban planning
Lead and coordinate the technical urban planning team in the preparation of urban planning proposals

Advise and work collaboratively in analyzing, collecting, compiling and interpreting data
Develop visually enticing graphics to support analysis, diagnosis, proposals and presentations
Contribute to the planning and delivery of capacity building interventions

What it takes

Advanced university degree in Architecture, Urban Development, Urban Planning and Design
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in urban development and planning
Experience in Azerbaijan or other urban crisis/post-crisis contexts
Fluency in English, written and verbal
Working knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda
