The role

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is seeking an International Consultant to support the Data Management, Analytics, and Products team within the Health Emergency Information Management and Risk assessment (HIM) Unit. The incumbent will integrate advanced analytics and geographic intelligence into emergency preparedness and response workflows while strengthening Member States' capacities. This is a remote, contract-based role responsible for developing standardized analytic outputs, training materials, and documentation to support health emergency signal triage and risk assessment.

What you'll do

  • Apply and validate multi-sector analytic approaches to support signal verification and risk assessment.
  • Develop and revise advanced analytic training materials and case-based exercises.
  • Integrate standardized analytic outputs into routine emergency signal triage and verification workflows.
  • Compile a compendium of analytic use cases and operational good practices.
  • Provide technical documentation to support the scaling of analytic workflows across PROTECT countries.

What it takes

  • University degree in public health or a related field.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in data management, mapping, or analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to use software tools including ArcGIS, QGIS, R, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and/or Spanish, with working knowledge of the other.
  • Master's degree in public health and knowledge of French or Portuguese are considered assets.
