What you'll do

  • Support UN-SPIDER in finalizing the detailed TAM programme, meeting schedule, participant list, institutional visit plan and logistical arrangements in Bishkek
  • Serve as the primary coordination point between UN-SPIDER and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including the Department of Monitoring and Forecasting Emergency Situations, the Crisis Management Centre, Kyrgyzhydromet and other relevant MES units
  • Coordinate with presenting institutions to confirm their participation, alignment with the TAM programme, and readiness to engage with the expert team
  • Support the international expert team during meetings with MES and other national stakeholders by clarifying local institutional context and helping ensure that technical questions are addressed to the appropriate institutions
  • Prepare written inputs for the TAM report, including summaries of institutional meetings, key findings, national capacities, identified gaps, local priorities and possible recommendations

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in remote sensing, geoinformation science, geography, environmental science, disaster risk management, instructional design, international relations or a related field
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in disaster risk reduction, emergency management, geospatial information, remote sensing, climate risk, public-sector coordination, international development or related fields
  • Experience working with government institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic, especially ministries or agencies involved in emergency situations, hydrometeorology, geospatial data, land resources, water, agriculture, environment, science or academia
  • Experience supporting UN, international organization, donor-funded or intergovernmental missions, workshops, trainings, evaluations or technical assistance activities
  • Fluency in English and Russian (both oral and written), knowledge of Kyrgyz is highly desirable
