The role
The Global Health Communications Intern will contribute to external and internal information sharing and creative storytelling to advance the UN Foundation’s global health work, covering issues such as pandemic preparedness and response, infectious disease surveillance, and life-threatening diseases such as polio and malaria.
What you'll do
- Draft communications materials, including blogs and social media, on health-related topics
- Develop content for a webpage that will highlight the UN Foundation Polio Press Fellowship
- Track the performance of the UN Foundation’s global health content
- Assist with creation and dissemination of the Unite for Health newsletter to inform key audiences about multilateral efforts to advance global health priorities
- Support and facilitate the UN Foundation’s communications activities around major global health moments and observance days, including the UN General Assembly
- Assist with managing and developing photography, video, and social media assets that explain and illustrate polio and malaria eradication activities

- Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship
- Familiarity with the current global health agenda and key UN and/or multilateral organizations
- Communications and public relations skills and experience
- Ability to write engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy
- Spanish language proficiency preferred
