The role
Instructional Assistant for the Data Center program at Per Scholas, supporting learners in IT infrastructure and data center operations.
What you'll do
- Assist the Technical Instructor with delivering a structured, approved curriculum focused on data center skills.
- Support remote classroom facilitation in an interactive, hands-on style.
- Enforce and model appropriate remote classroom decorum and professionalism.
- Take and track daily learner attendance in Salesforce and/or LMS.
- Coordinate with the Instructor to prepare lab tools and resources in advance of sessions.
- Lead instructor-approved study groups based on learner performance and needs.
What it takes
- Graduate of a Per Scholas training program (preferred), ideally in IT Support, Infrastructure, or Datacenter tracks.
- Successfully obtained all certifications offered in the program (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent).
- Strong foundational understanding of networking fundamentals, PC hardware architecture, operating systems, Linux CLI proficiency, Windows troubleshooting, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, Cat5/5e/6 cable handling, classroom equipment setup, and basic IT lab support.
- Experience using or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital tools (e.g., Canvas, Salesforce, Zoom).
- Ability to teach and support in a highly interactive, hands-on training environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
