The role
The Inclusion and Safeguarding Adviser will lead the integration of inclusion and safeguarding systems across Pacific Australia Skills Vanuatu, supporting the operationalizing of the Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan, as well as effective implementation of Pacific Australia Skills safeguarding strategy in line with DFAT Safeguarding Policies and DT Global safeguarding frameworks.
What you'll do
- Support the implementation of the Pacific Australia Skills Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan across Vanuatu
- Work with program staff and partners to embed gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion (GEDSI) principles into program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Support partner organizations to identify and address barriers to participation for women, people with disabilities, youth and other underrepresented groups
- Facilitate inclusion awareness activities, training and professional development opportunities
- Support the MEL team to ensure inclusion indicators, data collection and reporting processes capture meaningful information on participation and outcomes
- Support the communications team to ensure communication products promote inclusive and accessible practices and positively represent diverse participants
What it takes
- Tertiary qualifications in inclusion, international development, social sciences, community development or another relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within development programs or donor-funded projects
- Experience supporting the coordination of training, workshops, or capacity building activities
- Experience supporting partner engagement, program delivery, or project implementation activities
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in Vanuatu context with oral communication skills in Bislama
- Understanding of and commitment to Social Inclusion, Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies
