The role

The IDB Group is seeking an intern to collaborate on the development and research of systemic risk monitoring indicators, methodologies, and stress-testing tools.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the Systemic Risk Group in the development and research of innovative systemic risk monitoring indicators, methodologies, and stress-testing tools.
  • Conduct research using NLP-based quantitative text analysis to develop early-warning indicators and calibrated probabilistic forecasts.
  • Assist in the development of automated solutions for data processing and reporting.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation on automated solutions and key findings.
  • Collaborate with the team on other ad hoc risk management activities as needed.

What it takes

  • An active graduate student in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, economics, or related quantitative discipline from an accredited University.
  • Citizenship: Be a national of an IDB member country.
  • Enrolled in a graduate (master’s or Ph.D.) program as of the starting date of the internship program.
  • Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
  • Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation (“Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest”).
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16th to March 15th, 2027.
