The role
The Humanitarian Affairs Expert will contribute to the monitoring of sanctions measures and investigation of alleged violations or non-compliance in Haiti, under the direction of the Security Council Committee.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the monitoring of sanctions measures and investigation of alleged violations or non-compliance
- Prepare reports on any violations of the sanctions regime
- Assist in refining and updating information on the list of designated individuals and entities
- Collaborate with various United Nations organizations and regional groups
- Draft and follow up on correspondence related to the mandate
- Submit an End of Assignment Report at the end of the mandate
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in military science, political science, international relations, law, finance, journalism or other relevant area
- Minimum ten years (including a minimum of three years of field experience) of progressively responsible experience
- Significant field experience in post-conflict or transitional situations
- Experience working under the rules and regulations of the United Nations
- Fluency in English and French, knowledge of Creole is an advantage
