The role

The Human Rights Officer will conduct monitoring, documentation, and analysis of human rights violations in Ukraine, including field missions and reporting.

What you'll do

  • Conduct substantive monitoring of the implementation of human rights and international humanitarian law
  • Collect, document and analyse evidence-based information on civil, cultural, economic, social and/or political rights
  • Draft, review and disseminate human rights reports, briefings and other communications
  • Conduct field missions to document violations of international human rights and humanitarian law
  • Provide human-rights-based technical assistance on administration of justice and security-sector issues

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in human rights, law, political science, or related fields
  • Minimum of five years of experience in human rights or related areas
  • Skills in conducting gender-, age- and trauma-sensitive human rights interviews
  • Knowledge of international human rights law, norms, and standards
  • Knowledge of international humanitarian law and its application
  • Experience in drafting human rights reports, policy and other documents
